Toy Story 5

Every time I hear they’re making a new Toy Story movie I think to myself “another one? Don’t they know when to stop?”, but still I watch them and have a good time with them, sometimes even have the feeling they really still have original ideas to tell, this one got me feeling like that.

The plot of the movie revolves around the coming of technology, such as tablets, in the life of kids, and how they get dependent on them and forget their old toys and imagination. A more nuanced subject can be seen through the perspective of the toys, about accepting that change always comes and it doesn’t necessarily mean that’s bad, or something along those lines.

I also did like the secondary storyline they presented, though I was kinda hoping that the converging point between those two would be better handled or have a better payoff.

I feel like this movie would hit a lot harder had it come out some years ago, but the theme is still relevant nowadays and the toys jokes and puns are still amusing.
