I’m not the biggest or most knowledgeable Michael Jackson fan, so I don’t think I can really say how faithful the script was, though, from what I know, I would say Jaafar acting as Michael was pretty great.

At the same time that they seemed to rush through the main plot beats and important songs, they also made the controversial decision to split the whole story into multiple films, which results in an unexpected ending with a quick phrase assuring Michael will be back (but not the real one, the budget is not that big for this).

Some of the show scenes in the end also were a bit on the safe side, with uninspired cinematography and lots of crowd shots that didn’t do much for me. What saved those, of course, were Michael’s songs and his choreographies.
